Machine is an e-machine, model T-3025, running Windows XP. Ran OK last night
at shutdown. This morning machine would not load Windows. Machine does
power-up and "e" logo comes on screen and thats all. Also, cannot access
set-up by pushing any of the F keys. I also do not see the hard disk drive
access indicator light working.

This computer is needed for work. Please Help ASAP!

Accessing F8 (safe-mode),one needs to tap once machine has started,+ some
will only recognize the tap with a ps/2 plug in from keyboard (USB wont
work).
If still no response, try entering the BIOS.

Power off, and restart again, and press the key for the BIOS.

If you can't get into the BIOS, then this problem has nothing to do with
Windows, and you may be looking at system replacement.

If you can get in, see if you can find a setting that shows details as the
system boots, for example turning off "quiet" boot. This should give you
some clues as to the source of the problem.

On the positive side, this doesn't necessarily mean that your data is gone.
You should be able to remove the drive and attach it to another system and
simply copy the data off. And you should do this now, anyway, unless you
have extremely current and verified backups.

How to access the BIOS setup program depends on what motherboard/BIOS
you have. One common way is to press the Del key when you first power
on, but that's not necessarily right for your computer. Watch the
screen carefully when you first boot; there's often a message there
telling you what to do. If not, check your system documentation or
check with your vendor.

Also look here: http://michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm
Or just try the Del key. There's a good chance that's correct for you.
