XP wont save settings on restart

I installed XP fresh and it wont save any settings or
software changes I make when it restarts. any help would
be much appreciated...I have tried a different profile t
ono avail. also tried creating save settings registry
entry..didnt work either thanks

You might want to do some hardware diagnosis. Test the RAM with
something like Memtest86 from www.memtest86.com. Let the test run for
an extended (like overnight) period of time - unless errors are seen
immediately. If the RAM is good, test the hard drive with a diagnostic
utility from the mftr.
