Is there a limit of 4 on the # of ATAPI devices that
Windows XP can recognize? Or is the limit in the BIOS?
Windows only sees 3 drives attached to IDE cables plus 1
of 3 that are attached via SATA ports and SATA to IDE
adapters. If I disconnect the IDE cables, it sees all 3 of
the SATA-connected ones, so I know the adaptors are not
the problem. (Though not all adaptors are created equal, I
discovered.)
