XP Windows Explorer slow...

What are some of the causes of XP Explorer slowing down when moving around
folders, searching for a Word doc on the Explorer, or navigating from folder
to folder? It seems that my XP system waits a very long time before
displaying the results of navigation around the file and folder manager.
My system:

XP Pro Service Pack 1
Pentium 4 2.4 Gig
512 Meg ram
Disk space 38 Meg available out of 60
Paging file size 768 Meg, max 1536 Meg
Four users, guest on
Norton AV
Norton firewall
Linksys ethernet and wireless router
Cable internet at 3600 Meg

Both disk clean and defrag from the system tools has been run.

i need help with installing a windows xp home edition, 98se was pre installed on my compaq 5000 series, I then installed a xp professional pirated disc to check it out and screwed myself with kazaa. I then bought a windows xp home edition and tried to install it, but it won't let me upgrade, HELP!

Wow, what a confession! Backup what data you want and just format and
reload. If you have the "pirated" Windows XP Pro still on your computer, you
cannot install Windows XP home with reformatting.

Hi

If you still have the pirated XP Pro version on your hard disk/partition, you will have to format first, before you can install XP Home. You can't install XP Home over XP Pro.
