Xp Windows 98 emulator

hi i have games that used to run when i had win 98. once
i 'upgraded to xp home thye no longer work, some i can't
even install.

doesn't xp have a win 98 emulator so that i can run these
games? and if so how do i access it?

Not exactly, but it does have Compatibility Mode. There are details in Help
and Support in XP, and also in this Knowledge Base article about legacy
applications:

If you have the games installed, use Compatibility Mode as described in the
above locations on the icon or program listing you're using to launch the
game. And make sure you've updated the game with everything available from
the software company's web site.

If you can't get the install to work, you can use Compatibility Mode from
Start/Run/Browse, going to the install.exe or setup.exe file on the root of
the CD and applying it there so the installation believes it is on the
native operating system for which the game was created.

Right click on the game shortcut, select Properties, click on the
Compatibility tab and the compat mode that you're looking for is in there.
