XP will not boot after K7S5A Pro MB Upgrade

After upgrading a KT133/Athlon 950MHz system to a K7S5A
Pro MB with a Athlon 2400+ CPU, the system will not boot
properly. In safe mode, the boot fails (tries again)
after loading several drivers until MUP.SYS. MUP.SYS is
the last one, then it start an auto reboot cycle all
over. I updated the K7S5A Pro ot the latest Bios as
well - no effect. What now? Will reinstalling XP help?

It is the only thing that will help, the new mobo and CPU
need different drivers. The support the BIOS update
provides is needed, but there are many video and CPU drivers
you need.

MS provides reinstall instructions here

Try a "repair" installation, before you do a complete
fresh installation. The reapir will re-detect hardware,
load appropriate drivers, etc, BUT it will leave your
files, settings, and other programs alone. A full
installati0on will erase everything, but should certainly
work.

Read thes articles on the subject:

The first is official (Microsoft), the second is more
understandable (select How to Run a repai Install) and
even has screen shots of what you will see.
