Hi,

Upgarded my from Win98 to XP + SP2...everything AOK.

Tried to reconnect my USB webcam (had original driver disc incl. driver for
XP) but installation of the driver would not complete. It went almost right
to the end and then something was "refused" or "denied" and the installation
was aborted.
Webcam worked fine before, driver is up-to-date but I just cannot get it to
install.

I have DRIVER SIGNING set to "ignore" by default.

Does this mean that I ill need to buy a new webcam for XP?

Thanks.

Sean.

Thanks William, but the driver I already have is the same as that on the
manufacturer's website. This particular camera has had no driver update since
late in 2002.

Unfortunately not a logitech...it is an ELECOM CAM-C1C30; made in Japan for
the domestic market (I'm in Japan too).

you can try the drivers for win2000 and see how you go, else if that does
not work and they are not producing XP drivers then the solution will be as
you suspected to buy another one.

HTH

btw is that a copy of another brand ? if so try the drivers for the other
brand and see how you go.

Thanks for that tip.
I'll give the 2000 drivers a go and see if that does the trick rather than
the XP version.

I would guess that ELECOM does appear elsewhere under different names, but I
do not know which.

Sean.

Thanks, but I have all the current drivers from the Elecom Japan website.

The problem would seem to be in my XP + SP2 as none of their drivers from
2002 seem to work....by that, I mean they will not fully install and hence
the webcam is not recognised.
