xp VPN into Win2k

T

Tom

I have an XPpro client who VPN's into a Windows 2000 Pro machine. The user
can login and is authenticated but I cannot access (or even find or ping the
remote server or server ip). I can access the everything from my 2000 pro
client because of the ability to use netbeui.

I have tcp/ip and ipx protocols running. I have looked at the suggestions in
this and other groups and found nothing that solves this issue. With my luck
it is probably something easy that I missed. I can provide any relevant
information , but I really don't want to have to downgrade the remote PC to
2000 just to make this thing work.

Thanks,
Tom

Did you use the Wizard to configure the VPN server? If so you need to
disable the filters it creates:

1. Open the Routing and Remote Access Snapin.

2. Open the IP Routing container and then select the General container.

3. In the right-hand pane, right-click the appropriate interface and click
properties.

4. Click either the Input Filters button or the Output Filters button and
make
the appropriate changes.

Thanks Marc,

Are you referring to W2k server? I am doing this in a regular W2k Pro
machine.
