XP/Vista Dual Boot File Sharing

I know the answer's here somewhere but I can't find. Can someone give me a
clear and fairly concise method for allowing Vista partion to access my XP
partioned files? The two partitions are on the same machine which is dual
booting XP and Vista.

Thanks,

Well, Vista should grant you to take ownership of the files within folders
on the XP system when you double click it. A UAC dialog will pop up asking
if you want to continue. If you still can't access the files, you have to go
to the properties of the folder and choose the Security tab > Advanced >
Owner (tab) > click Edit > click continue on UAC dialog > on the Owner
dialog, near the bottom check the box that says "Replace owner on
subcontainers and objects" OK > OK > OK > OK.

If I do this, then won't XP lose control? I don't want to lose XP
functionality until the OS ships.
