Can any one tell me how do I stop windows XP professional from asking for the
pasword after a period of inactivity? or how do I configure the length of the
period?
I am new with XP and I did not had this problem with W2K professional

I'm not sure if xp pro is the same as xp home, but you can try this..go to
your desktop, right click>properties>Screensaver..then look for 'On resume
display welcome screen...click that and select the amount of time you want
to pass before you have the use your password. At least, I think that's it.

Ivee

It is exactly the same in this instance..

Hi Ramesh,
Exactly, I just want it to stop appearing or at least set a longer interval.
Can it be done?

Thanks.

Ivee, thanks for your answer, the thing is that I have the screen saver
disable that is to say I set it to none.

Regards,

Ramesh, I am new at this so I did not understand at first what the link was
for. Thanks it did help.

Regards.

Ijust review the information and I have done both of the recomendations. Taht
is:
1.- I have the screen saver set to none so the option is not enable.
2.- In the power options i cleared the option.

I am still getting the welcome screen after an idle time. Could it be
because I have the spanish version?

try this..
go to start>control panel>user accounts>change the way users log on and
off>deselect 'use welcome screen.
