I have the following configuration:
Subnet A - 192.168.0.0
Subnet B - 192.168.10.0
Windows XP Pro
Connected via Sonicwall IPSEC VPN
192.168.0.5 attempts to connect to shared printer on 192.168.10.105 by
typing \\192.168.10.105 in address bar of "my computer". Is prompted
to enter in user name and password. Inputs user name from
192.168.0.105 and appropriate password. Is prompted a 2nd time for
user name and password and PC has put computer name in front of user
name (gailsdestkop\gail). Says ok but is prompted again ad-
infinitum.
192.168.0.5 attempts to connect to 192.168.10.103 and successfully
accesses shared resources with no request for authentication.
192.168.10.5 can likewise access shared resources on 192.168.0.0
network.
Microsoft has been useless. I think it is Group Policy but I cannot
find the particular setting even though I compared the GP for .103
against .105. I think it has something to do with anonymous or guest
access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I know that I can buy
servers and printservers etc...
