XP upgrade help

I'm trying to upgrade from XP Home Edition to XP
Professional and I keep getting the following message:
Setup cannot continue ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded
Error Code 4
My PC then keeps restarting itself.
Can anyone help with this? How can I unload the XP Pro
setup from beginning everytime I start my system.
