XP update problem

Win XP seems to have updated itself mostly successful but lately Im
getting one update that is not.
Win tells be on shut down there is one update. It looks like it is
doing its job but not every time I shut down the same message and
process occurs. I think it might be a patch to Net. 1.1

What I need to know is where can I find this update so I can just
delete it.
