XP to 98

I am trying to utilize Outlook to post calendar items to
others in my workplace. From a Windows 98 machine, I can
post to other 98 machines and XP machines. However,
folks trying to post from an XP machine to a 98 can't.
The 98 machine receives email that shows paths etc, but
will not post. Is this impossible to do?

Have the users of Outlook 2002 remove the reminders from appointment items.
It messes with previous client's abilities to parse the information.
