XP Theme for Vista

Does anyone know of a theme that will make Vista look like Windows XP? As a
developer I need to be able to switch to a XP theme to check out the look
and feel of an application running under various Windows system. I'm running
Vista Business. It appears that it has Vista and Classic but nothing for XP
Themes.

I don't have your answer off-hand, although you might keep an eye on the
themes at WinCustomize. A better solution is for you to install virtual
software such as Virtual PC 2007 and create a virtual machine running
XP. Most developers rely on virtualization to check how their
applications run on different operating systems.

I had seen a "patch" that patched the vista theme dll much like the known
UXtheme dll patch for xp, premiting it to use any theme (MS STYLE).
But I did not test it .. also there is the new windowblinds comming out
(version 5.5) that will work with vista so you can use other themes.

Nick,

Thanks for the info on WindowBlinds. I purchased the 5.5 version. Do you
happen to know that the name of the theme is? There are a 150 some pages
out there.

hello.. how did you purchase 5.5? I think it was still in beta

They were giving the 5.5 beta out to those who bought the current version.
Has something changed?

Try to see if windowblinds has luna (xp theme) as one of the defaults...

and post back.... so I will know too...

thanks

Windows Blinds 5.5 is not in Beta anymore..
I have it too as part of StarDock, and as soon as you purchase it, you have
the option to install the beta versions.

what beta versions are you talking about. I asked if 5.5 is no longer beta,
and then you say it is not beta, but then you say you can install beta
versions?

clarify what you mean so I can understand... thanks

I had WindowBlinds 5.5 before Vista came out, at that time it of course
wasn't beta.
After the release of Vista, it then became something like: 5.50 build 010
or something.
But now it's out of beta - 5.50 build 021.

What I meant with Stardock is, that you have the option to download beta
versions of various programs within Object Desktop - including
Windowblinds.
