XP takes forever to load up on reboot

For the past week or so, I have been having a problem with XP booting up.
It takes forever to bring up a desktop for any of the 4 users, and one of the
users comes up with only background, no icons, start button, etc. All other
users get their desktop, but again it takes 3 - 4 mins. for desktop to appear.
Also, user who gets no desktop, when checking it shows 100% CPU usage.
Any help would be appreciated. Virus scan ( McAffee online virus scan )
shows no viruses detected.

sounds like you may have the same thing I did...it was
a "wupdater.exe" bug....check for that file in your
system...it takes quite a bit of work to remove too...
