XP System Restore

I am currently trying to restore my XP to a previous state, although System
Restore will not open. I receive no error just white screen where SR should
be loading. I have lost my Restore and recovery disk and short of purchasing
another set SR was my last hope.. Any help would be wonderful .... THANK YOU

Download Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 from
"http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp" and
install it.

This will install Microsoft Windows Script containing Visual Basic Script
Edition
(VBScript.) Version 5.6, JScript Version 5.6, Windows Script Components,
Windows
Script Host 5.6, and Windows Script Runtime Version 5.6.

This should resolve the blank screen problem.
