XP startup services

I have a XP machine that, on startup starts all the services it's supposed to
but then they stop. server service, workstation service, etc. Because of this
I cannot see my shared folders either locally or remotely. Anyone else seen
this?
 
I am seeing something similar with the Workstation Service. It starts and
then stops, if it even starts at all. There is little to no information
about what's going on in the logs (Application & System).
