XP starts up very slowly after having restored the wpa.dbl file

There are a lot of things that could cause this problem.
Try deleteing all your files in C:/windows/prefetch and
make sure you have Fast Boot enabled in your BIOS
settings.

Thanks, Mitch, for the tips! I have booted out the prefetch files, but my PC does not have a "Fast Boot" setting available, so that option is a no-go. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. Have you got any other ideas
