XP Start Up problem

Bill

I have been using XP Professional for over a year with no problems.

Suddenly when I tried to start, the program would go through the BIOS check
and then the Windows Logo would appear. At that point the screen would go
blank and instead of the desktop appearing, the computer would essentially
restart and the entire process would repeat over and over.

I went to the Windows Advanced options menu and tried the various options
available.
It will not boot in safe mode. Boot logging will not work. VGA mode will not
work.
Last known good configuration, debugging mode will not function.

I did have some success with "Disable automatic restart on system failure"
Using that option I get a blue screen with the following message

Stop: C0000221 (Bad Image checksum)
The image ole32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match
the computed checksum.

Are there any suggestions to correct this situation?
You're assistance would be appreciated.

This could be a ram failure. If you have two or more sticks of ram, try
removing all but one and see what happens. If no joy, remove that stick and
put in one of the other sticks.
