Hello,
I went online to purchase XP Home OEM. There are two versions, one with
SP2 and one with SP2. $20 difference. Can SP3 be downloaded? Is SP3
good and necessary?
Thanks
SP3 is good. And while I wouldn't call it a necessity just yet, your machine
will not be updated in the future without it.
How to obtain the latest Windows XP service pack:

Before you install, turn off your anti-virus and any anti-spyware programs
such as Windows Defender. If you use a third party firewall, disable it and
turn on the Windows Firewall in the Control Panel for the installation. Once
SP3 is in and working, you can enable the third party firewall and turn of
the Windows Firewall. Do not keep both running.
