I am running XP Home, service pack 3. Is there a limit to the number of
files on can have, if so, what is that number and how does one exceed it?
Thanks - Andy

Number of files??? no I don't think so. However if using the FAT32 file
structure, you are limited in partition size, if that is what your talking
about!

If your drive is using the NTFS file system you can have more than 4.2
billion files. I don't think you will have any problems with the number
of files on your disk...

Are you asking about the number of files stored on all the disk drives
you have?

Yes, I'm sure there's a limit per drive. But I don't even know what it
is, since that limit is so large that none of us have enough disk
space that we have to be concerned about such a limit.
