xp sp2

hey all,

after installing sp2 I'm getting the following error:
THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I CLICK ON ANY PROGRAM FILES ICONS TO CREATE A
SHORTCUT TO DESKTOP. AND THEN MY DESKTOP REFRESHES.
After installing sp2 I'm getting the following error:

Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I am also having this problem. Doesn't matter what icon I click on I get the
same Application Error, just a diff instruction at "xxxxxxxx". I thought it
just might be an easy fix by doing a complete reinstall. Pulled out the old
Dell install CD and did a complete wipe of the system and went with a fresh
install. Loaded the SP2 on and then , it happened all over again. I cant even
delete a file, unless I start up Winzip or WinRAR and delete them inside the
program.
