I recently upgraded my Gateway 1700 P4 PC to XP. Worked fine. Then added SP2
and it will not open in a normal mode. I get an error message"STOP:C0000221
UnknownHardError\systemRoot\system32\ntdll.dll" I have removed SP2 and
upgraded BIOS but received the same error after reinsl of SP2. I reverted to
XP w/SP1 and all seems OK but I wolud like to install SP2. I found a new
video driver from Gateway and installed it but have not tried SP2 since.
Could the video dvr be the problem?

Upgraded to xp from what.....XP runs best if you install it clean,it doesnt
need
or use any of the older windows OS files, plus, the older OS run in FAT32 file
system,xp runs in ntfs.If FAT32 is installed,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:
CONVERT C: /FS:ntfs You'll want to run all mtnce utilitys after.Or boot to
xp cd,
select install xp,new copy,delete the partition,create one,then xp formats
and
installs,clean....Other than that,chk event viewer.
