XP SP2 Upgrade leads to slow network sharing

I have installed SP2 on one PC in a small network of
three PCS so that I can dip a toe into the SP2 water so
to speak.

Since updating which after three reboots and Internet
Explorer locking up a few times the system has been
unnoticably different.

Except for when you try to access the SP2 machines shared
folders, it takes up to fifteen or twenty seconds for the
connection to 'wake up'. For example using Access XP from
one machine abd with the tables on the shared PC, it
takes an age for Access to load and display the table
data. Once opened access speeds are fine, until you close
it and reopen and the same process is repeated.

Has anyone else experienced a slow LAN after SP2? I
wonder if I install SP2 on the other machines if this
would make a difference?

Yes I have noticed a big slow down using any Office XP program when
accessing a file on another computer.
Also still getting constant Event 3019's in the event log.
Office 2000 seems fine.

Same here: huge network slow down after ungrading to sp2.
I'll probably revert back to sp1.

Had same problem and have been struggling with curing it for a couple
days. This morning, I noticed that the computer with the new SP2
upgrade was not listed along with the others in the same workgroup. A
light bulb fired off over my head and I reinitialized the workgroup
name on the problem computer. It listed the correct workgroup name,
but I deleted the name and reentered it. I also changed the computer
description at the same time and then rebooted.

Apparently, one or both of these changes appears to have improved
browsing of network shared folders tremendously. I'm crossing my
fingers and knocking on wood as I type this.
