xp sp2 unistall and reinstall xp troubles

I installed SP2 and have had trouble with my graphics card
sound problem ect.

SO I tried to unistall it with no luck via add remove prgms

I tried to roll back with system restore and the restore
point would not go past the SP2 install date.

SO I went to the HP system recovery and reverted back to
the original system. I can not find any of my programs or
folders . My external firewire drive seems intact but the
drive letter changed from I to H.
Is there anything I can do to at least retrieve my .jpegs
word docs. photo shops files
It would be great to get my old desktop back and all my
apps

I would at least would like to find my zip files of
applications and my mirosoft Office ....

I am afraid anything you had is gone after using the recovery disks. This
overwrites everything on the hard drive. You might possibly get something
back with a file recovery utility, but I doubt it. Do a Google search for
file recovery software.

Try FILERECOVERY. You can do a trial run with this, and if it recovers your
data, you then have to pay for it to be able to save it. It worked for me.
You willneed somewhere to save it, lke another hdd or a CD or Zip.
