I've got a Dell Inspiron 8600 that takes forever to boot during the
"preparing network connections" dialog box. This system is part of AD
Domain using DHCP. When I set both LAN and WLAN (wireless) to generic
static addresses (192.168.0.1 and .2 with 127.0.0.1 as DNS) it boots in
record time.

Any suggestions?

Revision: The wireless card seems to be the culprit. When it is set to
DHCP the system takes forever while "preparing network connections"

We found this to be the drivers on the onboard wireless Intel 2200
card. We uninstalled the card and updated the drivers and it worked.
