XP SP2 ReInstall

I suspect that spybot S&D identified some necessary Windows files and I
deleted them. Things are running way too slow and yes, I've defragged, etc.
Plus I have a new MyBook external HD that worked fine until recenetly and I'm
getting corrupt disc errors. I thought the first place to start would be to
reinstall SP2, but ...
Update Windows does it's auto-searching, then I can't find an option to
download & reinstall SP2. Maybe it's elsewhere, but I haven't found it.

Rather than reinstalling SP2, do a repair install with an XP in stallion CD
that has SP2 integrated on it. Creating such an installation CD is commonly
called slipstreaming. Here are some links on how to do that. Autostreamer
makes it easier. I have also included a link to the download of the full
SP2 package.

Download Windows Service Pack 2 Standalone Version

Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD

Ack, that should be "installation CD", not "in stallion". Clicking too
quickly in spell check, I think.
