I have successfully rolled out rc2 XP upgrade on a
variety of desktop pc's in a test environment
unfortunately when attempting to upgrade a Toshiba
Satellite laptop the upgrade fails during copying
of "plylst9.wpl and requests path to install directory.
All attempts to force the copy fail and the installation
then attempts a rollback which also fails leaving the
laptop in limbo. A search on other forums would indicate
I am not alone with this problem but so far no
resolution. I have asked to join the XP beta test
programme in order I can report the bug but have yet to
learn whether I have been successful. Any advice would be
appreciated.

When you were asked to join, did they give you this newsgroup:

I have the same problem, and in my search for a solution
I have noticed others who have it too. Could somebody
from MS please respond with a solution? Incidentally, or
possibly not, I am also using a laptop.

When you install SP2 RC2 beta, a "File a Bug" icon is placed on
the desktop. Use that link to file a bug report for any issues you
may experience with the laptops.

I had the same problem. In my case I found out that my Administrator
account did not have full control of the Shared Documents directory.
Once I gave full control the service pack was able to install the
plylst?.wpl in the Shared Music/Sample Playlists directory.
