I installed windows xp service pack 2 and afterwards have
not been able to open netscape navigator. I have
uninstalled both netscape and the sp2 with no luck, and
have restored my system back to before installing sp2,
still nothing. When I click the netscape icon, or try to
run the netscape.exe file, the hourglass shows up for a
sec, then the splash window appears, then nothing.
Netscape does not open. I'm at my wits end! Can anyone
help?

Re-run setup for Netscape setup, also check for updates, there is 7.2
release. Delete the Netscape folder in Programs Files under C: Drive and
reinstall netscape if the problem persist.

Netscape 7.1 works fine here. That's my default browser. You might
need to totally remove netscape. Uninstall, then delete all
directories, then search the registry for all netscape entries. Then
reinstall it. You could also ask at the netscape users group.
