Hello,

User having a issue since updating to XP SP2. Every morning he has to run
ipconfig / release and then renew to get on our network. Adapter is set to
dhcp but when he arrives it always still has his home router ip address. Any
help appreciated.

Mike,

when the user arrives, does he have his laptop shut down or is
it only hibernating? The latter could cause problems on cheap
hardware.

Are the DHCP ranges overlapping? That's another potential cause
of trouble. If so, you could ask him to put his home DHCP range
elsewhere. For example, if the office uses 192.168.0.x, he could
at home use 192.168.1.x.
