XP SP2 Installation Conflict with Symantec Products

I have had to rebuild my PC with its original OEM version of XP Home Edition
with SP1. I then installed updates from Microsoft Update website, then
installed Norton Internet Security 2006 and then Norton Systemworks Premier
2006. Now I am trying to install XP SP2, but I keep getting a Windows error
message (not a Symantec one) saying "Symantec Code Alert: DLL Loading problem
or Debugger detected or Integrity violated"; and invariably the SP2
installation crashes or stops part way through. I assume these two things
are
related, though they might not be for all I know. Can anyone help?

PS The PC had a single 512Mb of RAM, I have upgraded it by adding two extra
256Mb RAMs. According to Microsoft and Systemworks tests the memory upgrade
is working fine, so I don't think this is the problem, but hey, I could be
wrong!

These kinds of problems abound with Systemworks. I suggest you repeat the
install starting with a clean HD, omitting ALL the Norton stuff.

Then get a decent AV package. (AVG, NOD32, Trend, Kaspersky, etc) - but NOT
McAfee, that's starting to develop an equally-bad reputation.

I did a rebuild this weekend with Win XP Pro and Norton AV 2006 (do not have
system works). I installed Windows, them SP2, then NAV 2006 and had no
problem. I got that same error message with my Autosync 4.0, but that was
resolved with an upgrade to 4.2.

It turned out to be the extra memory that was causing the problem. I removed
it and then everything worked fine.
Thanks for your response.
