XP SP2 failed but....

B

Ben

Downloaded service pack 2 for XP Professional.
Installed failed (hung) during the Post Installation
processes.
After rebooting, XP automatically wnet back to the
Recovery point and all seemd fine, although running under
SP1.

It now seems that XP believes that SP 2 is installed (as
per System Information. Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack2
Build 2600.
Trying to redo the update to SP 2 does not pick up that I
am actually running SP 1.
How can I force is back to re-install SP 2.
Thanks
Ben

Click Start, Control Panel and see if the Windows
Security Center Icon is there. If it is, the SP2 has been
installed. I had a hang during rebooting of SP2 on my
Dell malptop. I hit power off which ersulted in a seystem
reset, Windows restarted and SP2 installed successfully.
You are probably OK.
