XP - SP2 - Boot Crash

When service pack 2 is installed, computer loads to boot screen with windows
logo, and then restarts the computer. I then load in safe mode with
networking and uninstall SP2 so i can run my computer normally. Please help
and identify why this malfunction is happening, I am in desperate need of
using Photoshop CS3 and it is unavailable unless I have SP2 installed.

- Updated all Drivers+DirectX
- Updated BIOS with floppy
- Updated all windows updates but Service Pack2

If Andrew's suggestion does not work out, try this:
1. Install SP2.
2. See if the problem persists.
3. If it does, boot into Safe Mode.
4. Disconnect your machine physically from the Internet.
5. Click Start / Run / msconfig.exe
6. Remove all ticks under the Startup tab.
7. Reboot.
8. If Windows boots normally, restore the ticks one or
two at a time until you find the culprit.

Step 4 is necessary to prevent your machine from getting
infected or hacked while your virus protection and/or firewall
is turned off.
