XP SP2 Administrative Templates Break GP Editing on Win2K Server

B

Bill Glidden

I installed .Net framework and the Group Policy Management Tool on a Windows
XP Pro SP2 PC so that I could manage the new SP2 Administrative Templates.
Works really well on the PC but when I attempt to edit GP Active Directory
Users and Computers on my Win 2k server, I get a million pop-ups telling me
that "The following entry in the [strings] section is too long and has been
truncated", a blank line and a paragraph warning about not setting any
polices here. The only way out of the pop-ups is to kill the GP editor.
Is there any way I can still use the Windows 2k server to manage Group
Policy? I know you can't install the Group Policy Management Tool on
anything other than XP or Server 2003. Am I stuck with managing domain GP
from a PC? Help please.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks, Dmitry. I read it just prior to your post! In the article does "Windows 2000" also mean "Windows 2000 Server"?
Cheers,
Bill
