XP Sluggish

Recently, when I'm connected to the net & have IE, OLE
and AIM open I noticed 2 things.

Word loads very slowly, whether I open a doc. from the my
docs menu or the program itself; and it takes equally as
long to load the right click menu from the start button.

If I am just @ the desktop, both load okay. I deleted
normal.dot in Word to try and fix it but it still
happens. Any ideas? Thank you.

If the conditions you describe are correct, then you are dealing
with a "interaction" between one of those applications and Word.

Just a guess, but XP supports Side-by-Side where applications
can use specific versions of .DLL's. This tries to avoid the old
"Dll Hell" prevalent in earlier versions of the NT product line. You
may have an issue with a shared DLL between one of those apps
and Word.
