Xp slower in network operation than W2k

Hi. change a computer on my company. I had a compaq with 320mb ram, P4 1.4GHz
with w2k. Everything was ok.

No I changed the computer to a Core Duo with 1024mb of ram and running XP.

Of course is much faster than the previous on, but in a specific software
that runs over the network it's much slower than the previous computer that
was running W2k.


What can I change to make this XP works faster over the network?

You don't say anything about what your "specific software that runs over the
network" actually is. What software are you running over the network? Maybe
there is something known about compatibility between that software and XP?
How are you measuring that it is slower (what is it doing?)
