Hi All,

maybe some of you have experienced this: When I enable my LAN adapter
whether wireless or the on board NIC,
programs take really long to open, so do pictures and other applications
Word, Excel, etc. etc.

If I disable the NIC, everything runs 100%

Any ideas?

thanks in advance

Perhaps you have some virus or spammer that activates when you connect to the
net. Did you do an anti-virus scan? Also, in Win XP, when you connect to
the LAN, do CRTL-ALT-DEL and check the running processes for any suspicious
processes. Also, check the "Network" tab and see what percent of the net
connection is beng used. Then run msconfig (Start>Run>msconfig) and check
the services and startup tabs for any unwanted apps.

Hope it helps,
