XP shuts itself down won't allow full scan, long internet time

My system shuts down after I start a virus or spyware scan. It allows
anywhere from 10 minutes (when I narrow scan to window directory) or 30 or
more minutes ( when I try to doa full system scan).

Also, it will usually not allow more than 30 minutes at a time on the
internet.

Has to be malware?!

Most probably it is malware. Follow these removal steps systematically:

You will see that all work needs to be done in Safe Mode. If the removal
steps look too complicated (and I'm not dissing your mad skilz since I
have no idea what they are), take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
