proMy computer (XP) shuts down without warning and to turn it back on I have
to unplug it and plug it back in. Anyone have a clue what this might be?

Thanks

Could be CPU overheating, bad Power Supply and check for adequate voltage
at the wall connection.

Right-click on 'My Computer' and hit 'Properties' then the 'Advanced' tab.
Under 'Startup and Recovery' hit the 'Settings' button. Uncheck
'Automatically restart'. You still will have something going on causing
problems but at least your computer won't reboot. If you have XP Pro you
can go to 'Event Viewer' under 'Administrative Tools' in Control Panel and
possibly get an idea what is causing the problem. Not sure if XP Home has
this function.
