XP shuts down by itself.

Can happen in 24,48 hours or anytime. Computer idol, just shuts dow by itself. Have to hold power switch 5 secs.to shut down. Then restart and boots ok for another extended period of time until it happens again.

I have a similar problem. When I log in my profile, the
computer sometimes goes on a sort of stanby mode, where
in I cannot get back to the original desktop. I have to a
manual shutdown also. After a couple time it usually goes
back to normal.
