George

When I installed XP on one of my laptops when I shut it
down it does not shut off automatically but will tell me
that it is ok to shut computer off. All my other
computers XP shuts them down without me manually turning
it off.

Any suggestions? Thank you

Hi George,

If the unit does not power off automatically:

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click
Power Options.
Click on the APM tab.
Check the Enable APM check box.
