I am running windows XP (version 5.1(build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rc1.040311-2315 :
Service Pack 2, v.20. Every time I connect to windows update it keeps telling
me to install SP2. I have had the SP2 disc sent ot me from microsoft and it
still won't let me run that disc. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this
problem.
With Thanks

I looked in add/remove programs but there is no service pack 2 there. I have
checked show updates. Any other ideas.

Yes, do a repair install then reapply sp2.

Izzy I tried to do a repair install but there was no option for it. The only
options were reformatt the partitions. Which I don't want to have to do for
obvious reasons. Any other ideas.
Thanks

It may be a simple thing and you might have already done it, buy when you
open Add/remove programs is the little box at the top for show updates
checked. the beta version maybe hide.
