XP Screen Resolution Warning

One of our VPs got a new 15 inch flat panel to use with her IBM T43
laptop and docking station. When she logs on now though, Windows XP
says her resolution should be increased from 800x600 to 1024x768. She
doesn't want to increase the resolution and she wants the warnings to
stop.

Anyone know a way to disable these warning messages?

Thanks,

Keith

LCDs are designed to run at their native resolution, which for a 15-inch LCD
is 1024 X 768. Some 15-inch LCDs will run at a different resolution, but the
image won't look good and you'll get those warnings because the monitor is
not being used in the way it was designed to be used.

Had a similar warning and it turned out to be the refresh being set too high.
The card was set at 85Hz and it still displayed an image but LCD warning
box said that "resolution" was set wrong. Otherwise check if it does it when
not connected to the company network. It could be a network issue. Hope this
helps.

YES! Create two different Hardware Profiles within Hareware tab of System
Properties. One with LCD monitor and one with out. Set one as he default
profile and all should be ok.
