Hi, im trying to start my xp sp1 pc in safe mode, the help feature says
click start - shutdown - and choose "safe mode" from a "drop down list"? I
have no drop down list just 3 options shut down , restart and hibernate.
Help plz

Restart the computer and hold the "Ctrl" button or keep pressing F8 while
booting. You will then get the boot options.

Hi,

Just select restart. When the shutdown completes and the system restarts,
hit F8 as WinXP begins to reload to access the boot options.

You can access "Safe Mode" by restarting XP. During the
boot process and before xp starts, hold down your f8
key. This will bring up a menu with the safe mode option.

at the list, choose restart. When the computer is
starting up and goes black (just before the WIN XP logo
comes up) hit the "F5" key on your keyboard. Simply
choose Safe Mode when the menu comes up.

When you reboot your computer, keep hitting the F8 key,
then you'll get the options you are supposed to get. Be
patient, though, it takes a few seconds to come up.
