I have recovered my whole system with hp recovery disks downloaded norton
antivirus, spybot, adaware, and xoftspy410. I have run all these programs
without hitting on any threats or problems except for some adaware and
spyware which i removed with the adaware programs. I connect to the net
through wireless g adapter. when not connected to the net my system runs at
about 88-94% cpu usage when i connect the adapter it runs at a constant 100%
and slows down considerably. I understand that cpu usage number means
pecentage of availiable space to perform tasks, so why the incredible lag in
my system? what gives? any help or Ideas would be much appreciated.

Try downloading a trial version of System Mechanic 5.0 Pro - you can get it
at this link: http://www.iolo.com/sm/5pro/download.cfm . Once you have it
installed, run everything on it - Registry repairs, hard drive
defragmentations, etc. Hopefully, that should speed it up a bit.
I hope it helps
