I wouold really appreciate help from anyone who can assist.
I re-booted my system this AM and my Windows XP Pro reverted to an older
version, causing a number of updates and installed programs acquired since to
disappear.
Checking System restore, I found to first restore point was in Aug 2006. SR
is active and I used it successfully at least once in the last 45 days.
I checked forums and sites and have not located any information similar to
my problem.
I checked my error logs and they have data up to Aug 06, and then jump to my
re-boot today. The only one error I found states a performance string in the
performance registry is conflicted, and references the first and last "DWORD"
in the string. No idea if this is related.
I am running Windows XP Pro, version 2002 w/service pack 2 (this is the
current display but I had updated to SP3 and all other recommended updates
before the event above) on a Pentium 4 3.06 GHz processor. I have 30 GB of
RAM for system resore to use and the slider is all the way to the right
(highest setting) on the SR configuration panel.
Thanks in advance
