XP remote management

Mike

When I use Active Directory & Computers on my XP machine
and select another XP machine on the network and
click "manage", I get "Access Denied". I can manage
win2K machines fine. Also, my associate who has a win2K
workstation can manage my XP machine and all others.
This issue also blocks may ability to use products such
as UpdateExpert that read the registry on remote machines
to manage XP Professional workstations. Thanks in
advance for any solutions you may have to offer! (I am
and administrator on all of the machines in question)

I realize you stated that you use an account that is an
admin on every machine, but to help narrow down the
possible causes you need to be more specific.
Are all machines in one domain ?
Do you log in with a domain account that is in
the local Administrators group of all machines ?

I appreciate your response. All of the machines are in
one native mode active directory domain and all are in
one OU and site. I am a member of a group that is in the
local admin group on all machines and have also made my
domain user account a member of the admin group on the
machines in question. All of the XP machines have
recently been upgraded from Win2K workstations with no
other changes in status, all are patched up to date.
Everything else about the machines appears to work fine.

Thanks!
