Can anyone tell me how to reinstall Windows XP?
I want to erase my hard drive and reinstall it.

How do you make the boot disk?

Thanks!

JOEY, give me more info to work with. Did it come with a
recovery disk, a set of system recovery disks? I have
done 4 destructive recoverys in the last year and even
hard burned the unit. It's no fun and takes a lot of
work. Unless you have a VERY good reason to want to do
this: DON'T. Explain the problem you are having. XP is
very forgiving in that most problems can be worked around.

Depending on why you want to reinstall, you might want to try a repair
install first.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.

Only if your computer does not have a CD drive or is incapable of booting
from CD. Otherwise boot from the CD and follow the prompts.

The boot disk created with XP does not contain format.exe and would not work
if XP is using NTFS if it did.

You do it after booting the XP CD direct. As you power on hit the
hotkey to enter BIOS setup (see the manual, or try DEL; F2; F10 which
are common ones). There either a Boot page, where select the CD drive
and use the number pad + key to push it to the top; or a BIOS settings
page and use PageDn to cycle the Boot order value round to CD first.
ESC to exit and exit saving settings to boot the XP CD direct.

Enter Setup, and after the license agreement take New Install. When it
asks you to confirm where, hit ESC; select and delete the current
partition and make a new RAW one to be formatted at the next stage

The important point is the delete. Without that it will just go ahead
and make a new install over the top of the old one
