XP Reinstall

I have a PC which had an an OEM copy of XP Home installed which has just died.

As I do not have the XP media and neither PCWorld nor Microsoft will provide
me with any...What I need to know ism if it possible to install XP
Professional with a XP Home licence key?

No. The Windows XP OEM license is forever tied to the
first computer it was installed on. It in non-transferable to
a different computer, so you'll need to purchase a new license.

If you mean that XP Home has died, then suppliers ARE obliged to provide you
with a means of putting it back onto the (same) computer.

I have a pc with the xp home oem that the Hard drive died. I purchased
a new hard drive... how do I get xp home edition onto the new drive
without the media? Were can I get the cd without having to purchase
it. I have access to an XP Professional cd, can I use this with the
XP Home key code?

I have a same problem, my hard drive failed and I have bought a new one and
I dont want to pay for XP again just becuase I lost information. I tried the
link above but it is broken. Thanks!!
